Today is Earth Day. Earth Day created and organised the very first Earth Day on April 22nd 1970. It has evolved into the largest civic event on Earth. At Jamie’s Computers we want to share our efforts and mission to improve sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint.

It is very important to recycle e-waste correctly. It can cause serious harm to the environment. This is why we are so passionate to share the importance of this topic.
*Last month we sent 732kg of plastic to be processed correctly and we want that number to keep increasing.
When we receive donations and items to be recycled we make sure it gets processed correctly. We’ll refurbish and re-use the items where we can. We refurbish laptops, computers to a high standard and give them a longer life. The refurbished items will be sold on our eBay, online and instore. Making it much more sustainable and eco friendly.
By refurbishing and selling the IT equipment we are re-using the materials that already exist. Therefore, not contributing further by buying a new laptop made of new materials. Instead of materials such as; lithium-ion batteries, the plastics and glass screens etc going to landfill, they’re repurposed and reused.
Earth Day is such a important movement that we all should be taking part in. Even if something small by taking your re-usable shopping bag or buying second hand items. It will always make a difference and is a step in the right direction.
